Orienteering

The grounds at Crealy lend themselves to this exciting and healthy activity.

Our Orienteering sessions are based around small groups working together to navigate their way round Crealy Park to search out the pre-marked checkpoints.

At each checkpoint there is a crayon rubbing to complete to prove they found it before moving onto the next checkpoint.

This activity develops participants map reading skills, communication and overall fitness. The average course is approximately 2.5 miles long and courses vary in difficulty and distance depending on age and experience of the group.

Orienteering is offered to you as one of our day visit activity options or as an evening/morning activity as part of the overnight “Discovery Camp”.

The instructors leading this activity are qualified through the British Orienteering Federation (BOF). Groups are unattended whilst searching for checkpoints although the instructors are constantly aware of the children's position and are no more than a whistle blow away.

Please note – groups are never outside of the Crealy Park grounds at any point during the activity.
