Discovery Camp -

The ethos behind the Discovery Camp is to give opportunity for people to

get closer to nature, gain new outdoor skills and experience sleeping under the stars.

The camp is available to all people over the age of 8 years old which means adults

are welcome too!. The camp can be tailored to suit the type of group in attendance.

In addition to the overnight camp we provide the following activities as part of the Discovery Camp package-

Traditional fire lighting skills

Shelter building and bivvying techniques

Owl calling

Adventurous walks and creature spotting

Archery

We provide an evening meal, marshmallow roasting, bedtime drinks and breakfast.

Evening meals are normally a BBQ cooked over an open fire with pancakes for pudding.

Hot chocolate is served before bedtime and breakfast is a toast and fruit selection.

The camp usually starts at around 5.00pm and finishes the following morning at around 10.00am. 

We believe that the continued enjoyment and survival of the natural countryside is in the hands of the next generation.

Enabling young people to get out in the natural environment is essential in the educating and shaping of our children’s attitudes towards sustainability and conservation.

The camp is fully catered for with regards to tents, cooking equipment and food.

Personal kit and safety requirements-

Normal clothing with extra layers for the evening including hats and scarves.

Sturdy footwear that covers the top of the foot i.e. no flip flops or sandals.

Torches for inside the tent and visits to the toilets.

Overnight equipment such as sleeping bag, pillow and toothbrush.
