Our structured timetable of activities is only available to children attending our Holiday Adventure Club.
They will enjoy a range of age appropriate indoor and outdoor adventurous activities.
How is Crealy different from other clubs, summer schools and day camps?
• Children will have fun in hundreds of acres of parkland, farmland, woodland and, of course, Devon’s Crealy Great Adventure Park itself.
• Our day starts from 8.30am and finishes at 6pm – perfect for busy working parents.
• In addition to drinks and snacks, we provide a healthy lunch so your children will be suitably looked after.
• There is a 5.30pm pre pick up dinner option for busy parents who want their child fed and watered before getting home.
This is available at an additional £3.00 per head. Please ensure you advise us of your requirements via the booking form. (Not available
at Christmas or in winter opening times)
• Devon’s Crealy celebrates 20 years as the South West’s favourite family attraction, and with that comes a wealth of knowledge and
expertise from world-class standards of health and safety to world-famous fun and magic. You can be sure your children will be safe
and happy in the care of experienced staff hand-picked for their understanding of children and childcare.
When does the club run next?
The Summer Holidays
July 25th - September 2nd 2011 (6 weeks)
What ages can attend?
The Crealy Holiday Club has Ofsted Certification of Registration (number = EY395893) and offers safe adventures to children
from the age of 8 - 16 years.
What are the arrangements for collection and drop-off?
Children arrive between 8.30am and 9am to suit parents. They will be met and signed in by a member of our staff at the Adventure Club Centre. Children should be collected at Adventure Club Centre before 6pm – we reserve the right to ask for identification from anyone collecting children. Parents are welcome to enjoy the comfort of our food outlets from 5pm where drinks and snacks may be purchased, however other areas of the Park will be closed to adults.
What experience and qualifications do the staff have and how do I know my child will be safe?
All of the Crealy Instructors in the Adventure Club are experienced Crealy Rangers who have been selected for their experience, qualifications, motivation and aptitude for working with children. The team includes qualified teachers, outdoor activity instructors and survival skills instructors. The Adventure Club Staff exceed minimum standards for activities with National Governing Bodies. All Crealy staff have undergone a Criminal Records Bureau check and adhere to Crealy’s strict childcare policies in line with current childcare best practice. The activities themselves are risk-managed and a risk assessment provided to the General Manager before an activity is run to minimise the potential for accidents. All leaders have access to either a walkie-talkie radio or a telephone to ensure they remain in contact especially when running activities in more remote parts of the site.
Part of the survival skills activity includes the use of a small hook knife with a short curved blade for wood cutting and another part includes traditional methods of building and lighting fires. These activities are safely run with fully trained survival instructors - please telephone if you would like to discuss this activity with one of the instructors.
How is the day structured?
At the beginning of each day, participants will be divided into mixed groups based on age and that group will then follow a timetable of activities throughout the day. The staff to child ratio will be no more than 12 children to each member of staff, or 2:12 for some activities where more supervision is required.
What should children bring to the Holiday Adventure Club?
All activity equipment and food is provided so parents only need to ensure that children come with suitable clothing. Most activities are outdoors and will run except in very bad weather when “rainy day activities” will run in our large indoor areas. It is therefore essential that each child brings a holdall containing waterproofs, a complete change of clothes, wellington boots and trainers. Children should also bring a warm hat in the winter months and a sun hat and sunscreen April-October.
What should children not bring to Adventure Club?
Children must not bring any toys or anything of any sentimental value. Children may bring pocket money to spend on drinks and snacks if they wish although these will already be provided. We cannot be held responsible for any personal belongings and recommend all items are clearly labelled. Adventure Club operates a strict mobile phone policy whereby all phones brought onto site must be kept switched off in bags and only accessed at lunchtimes and at the end of the day. If required, bags can be locked in a safe room or locker by the group leader.
How much does it cost?
Adventure Club costs £27 per day including 1 lunchtime meal and you can book for your child to attend on any of the days available.
The club runs from Monday to Friday during State School holidays and if you book a child for 5 consecutive days from Monday to Friday it will cost just £120 – a saving of £15! To help families we offer a further saving of 10% when booking each additional brother or sister from the same immediate family for the full five days, at a cost of £108.00.
